How to Make The Team?
5th grade students filled out an application during the first week of school. Those that were interested then competed in a timed design challenge using the school's LEGO kits. Students were then selectedbased on their application and design challenge score.
Practices are currently held every Monday and Thursday from 3:00 - 4:30.

What is the LEGO Robotics Club?
FIRST LEGO League Robotics Club (FLL) creates student interest in science, math, and technology by encouraging teamwork, initiative, self-confidence, and appreciation of diversity. Currently, the program is for 5th grade students. The program effectively engages children from various backgrounds, instilling new ideas and concepts in more experienced children while helping to inspire, motivate, and encourage basic learning principles and skills among children with less experience.
Each year FLL releases a new Challenge for our teams. The Challenge focuses on a different scientific topic or question each year. The Challenge has three parts: the Robot Game, the Project, and the FLL Core Values.
In the Robot Game, the kids build and program an autonomous (no remote control) LEGO MINDSTORMS® robot to score points by performing mission tasks. Through the Project, teams learn more about the science behind the Challenge theme. The kids use their creativity to design a solution to solve a real-world problem. While FLL teams work on the Robot Game and the Project each year, they are guided by the FLL Core Values. The FLL Core Values are part of what makes FLL so special, because kids compete like crazy against the game but still respect their teammates, coaches, and even their “competitors.” There are 14 members on the team and practice is held after school. Mrs. Rhoden and Mrs. White are co-coaches for the team.
